Cette organisation serve les activités de soutien au parc nucléaire en service en France et à l'export ainsi que les projets de constructions neuves via la JV EDVANCE
Description de la mission
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a British engineering company delivering design and engineering activities for UK EPR projects in Britain. It is a subsidiary of Edvance SAS and part of EDF Group.
EPR-E is responsible for the following activities:
- Detailed design activities for Hinkley Point C Units 1 & 2 project on a scope including the NI buildings and part of the CI/BOP buildings, plus related systems, components and contracts;
- Engineering support to Hinkley Point C Units 1 & 2 site for Nuclear Island Construction and Commissioning activities;
- Design feasibility and detailed design activities for Sizewell C Units 1 & 2 project;
- EPR-E has responsibility for the UK Context topic for the UK EPR projects.
Considering the progress of HPC design and construction, design stability is a key success factor of the project from now on. The key success factor for SZC is the design replication, which is at the core of the project’s commercial competitiveness. The role of the Chief Engineer is strongly linked to these two key success factors.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for the technical and methodological alignment of EPR-E, supporting HPC design stability and SZC design replication.
The Chief Engineer position is a senior leadership position within EPR-E reporting operationally and functionnally to the Chief Operating Officer.
The Chief Engineer is an EPR-E ExCom Member.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for:
- Ensuring that the DISC&Edvance Engineering teams are working in support of design replication on SZC project
- Acting as “UK EPR Product Owner”, so as to ensure the knowledge within the organisation of UK EPR design specificities and supervise decision making
- Ensuring the link with the DISC Engineering Transformation programme and drive the subsequent transformation plan within EPR-E
- Acting as the SZC NSA (Nuclear Services Agreement) Consortium Technical Director, and managing the NSA Consortium technical directorate
- Being a member of the EDF CTNN (Comite Technique Nouveau Nucleaire)
- Ensuring Nuclear Safety and Quality for EPR-E: the EPR-E Nuclear Safety and Quality manager reports to the Chief Engineer
- Developing Technical Integration competence in EPR-E: Chief Engineer will provide oversight and support to the Transverse Discipline Manager, for development of technical integration competence.
To deliver these missions the Chief Engineer works closely with: the Edvance and CNEPE technical directorates for HPC and SZC and the wider Edvance and CNEPE engineering teams, the SZC Client Engineering Directorate, EDF Energy Nuclear Services and Chief Engineers, the DISC and Edvance Transformation teams.
In addition, the Chief Engineer is the sponsor of the Innovation Network within EPR-E.

Profil
General and technical background expected
- Senior management experience in nuclear engineering and new nuclear build projects
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical integration or project management senior roles for EPR nuclear power plant design
- Project management / delivery experience
- Knowledge of EPR engineering process
- Science, engineering degree or equivalent
Skills required
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Experience of leading large teams in complex environments
- Strong technical knowledge of the EPR design and ideally UK EPR design
- Robust knowledge and extensive experience of the EPR design and engineering processes
- Project management skills and delivery focused approach
- Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to set, achieve and maintain high standards of safety and quality
