Job description

The Electrical Cabling Group Leader is responsible for leading and managing a specialist team of Engineers, Contract and Technical engineering Leads within EPR-E.

They must ensure the accurate completion and verification of electrical cabling engineering deliverables to be issued to the Customer (NNB) and other Disciplines in accordance with the technical requirements and following the overall project schedule. They must also manage when relevant the update of System Design Manuals in consistency with site and most recent supplier feedbacks.

 

Depending on their scope of activities and areas of expertise within the section as well as the phase of the project, they will oversee the following main engineering activities:

·       Management of the supplier contracts and/or monitoring of design and manufacturing of the systems

·       Follow up of electrical equipment contracts mainly focused on cabling and connecting activities

·       Follow up / organisation / reporting on the progress of their team delivery scope

·       Interface with our front office to take into account site feedback impacting our studies

Principal Accountabilities:

·       Monitor team resources, processes, workload activities continually to ensure optimum performance,

·       Responsible for maintaining a suitable balance between workload, skills and resources to ensure deliverables are issued on time and with quality,

·       Manage progress against deliverables and project schedule, report any potential issues to the Process Department Manager and make recommendations,

·       Responsible for the technical quality and consistency of the team’s deliverables i.e. Verify and approve technical documents and deliverables before the Process Department Manager’s final approval,

·       Provide / ensure appropriated technical leadership guidance and expertise to the engineers and technicians,

·       Manage resources planning within budget and provide feedback to the Process Department Manager and Discipline Manager,

·       Lead, develop and implement the nuclear safety culture within the team,

·       Support the overall knowledge management of the System discipline by ensuring proper capitalisation of knowledge / Operational Experience,

·       Represent the Process Department Manager in their technical area of expertise as primary point of contact with Edvance France and Intelligent Customer.

Profile

To be considered the following qualifications, experience and skills are essential:

·       Electrical or Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent qualification

·       6+ years’ experience of electrical engineering or relevant experience supporting nuclear operating fleet

·       Relevant experience in the nuclear industry

·       Relevant experience to effectively manage own and team’s workload in order to respect deadlines

·       Excellent interpersonal skills

·       Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally, in English

·       Proactive and confident in communicating with others, particularly those based in remote offices including France, Germany.

·       Proactive in developing positive working relations with others within the project.

 

Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills

·       Knowledge in any of EPR system design sequences, I&C or Safety Classification sequences or relevant equivalent experience

·       Experience in the management of transverse technical and contractual topics

·       Ability to prioritise, to manage numerous interfaces, to question and understand the imperatives of other downstream disciplines

·       Knowledge of cable sizing, cabling tools

·       Knowledge of UK licensing requirements and its application within a nuclear project
