EPR-E, a company created on 1st September 2023 is a subsidiary of Edvance (equal share between EDF and Framatome).
EDVANCE is in charge of the design (basic and detailed design) and the realization (studies, procurement, erection, testing and commissioning) of nuclear islands for new projects in France.

In particular, EPR-E is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C project and for Sizewell C.

Description de la mission

Hinkley Point ‘C’ (HPC) is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next generation of nuclear power stations (EPR), HPC is both of high profile and high complexity.

The project is delivered through an organization that comprises multi-disciplinary teams. The MEH program is assigned to deliver the Mechanical / Electrical / HVAC component in terms of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC).

 

The Electrical Construction Lead Engineer has the responsibility to ensure delivery of the Electrical activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the buildings Project schedule.

He is reporting to the Project Manager of his area or disciplines. He will ensure planning and delivery in accordance with all safety, quality, time, and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.

 

Electrical Construction Lead Engineer on behalf on NNB (HPC) is in charge to:

  • Guarantee that Safety is the overriding priority for any activity performed during Pre-Construction activities which includes nuclear safety as well as Industrial Safety. Planning the work must also recognize the importance of a strong Nuclear Safety and Quality culture (conformance with the requirement, implementation of the site adaptation, non-conformance treatment) and the importance of a “right first-time” attitude including the implementation of lessons learnt and share good practice.
  • Drive the electrical activity in a building from the site delivery to the handover to Commissioning. This includes all the preparation activities before the physical start of the activities in the building (documentation, procurement of material, interfaces with other Programmes, synthesis of MEH activities, commissioning needs, access) by gathering project data and producing reports for management review.
  • Implementation of the MEH L4 schedule (4 weeks and 16 weeks look ahead)
  • Warn the management in case of change and potential risks.

Profil

General and technical background expected

 

  • Electrical Engineer in erection/maintenance scopes with a background in preparation and execution of Electrical activities (Cable tray, cable pulling and Equipment installation) preferably in nuclear sector.
  • A successful experience in project management would be an added value.
  • A strong technical interest, particularly in the field of construction or maintenance of industrial installations is required for this position.
  • A mastery of computer tools is essential: manipulation of massive data under Excel, Power BI, 3D model…
  • Knowledge of EPR model would be an asset.

 

Skills required

 

  • Experienced profile : at least 5 years of experience including 3 years recognized in equivalent missions.
  • Strong adaptability and autonomy.
  • Strong interest for new challenges and major projects.
  • Ability to implement field operational experience and integrate OPEX. 

 

Languages (level)

  • Fluent English required : Writing technical documents and daily exchanges in English (at least level B2).
  • French would be an asset.

 
Others

  • A first successful experience in multi-cultural and international projects would also be appreciated.
  • The candidate must also have behavioural skills to interact with several stakeholders (MEH contractors, Joint Design Office, Procurement…).
