S'appuyant sur plus de 40 années de savoir-faire, et les compétences de 4 500 collaborateurs à travers le monde, la Business Unit (BU) Fuel développe, conçoit, fabrique et commercialise des assemblages de combustible ainsi que des services associés au combustible, pour les centrales de production d'électricité de type réacteur à eau légère (REP pour les réacteurs à eau sous pression et REB pour les réacteurs à eau bouillante) et les réacteurs de recherche.
La BU Fuel est également en charge de l'élaboration du zirconium et de ses alliages et commercialise aussi des services d'ingénierie et des services sur site associés au combustible.

Job description

Within the Fuel BU Product and Technologies division, the European R&D Manager is responsible for the Fuel BU Development Projects Portfolio monitoring in France and Germany. He/She strongly interacts with Project Managers, Product Strategy, together with finance and with resource centers to ensure the compliance of European development portfolio, KPIs and budget with R&D objectives.

He/She represents as needed the Fuel R&D Management Unit in Europe. He/she monitors Framatome’s contribution in R&D partnership agreements related to Fuel, in particularly International programs and French agreements with CEA, IRSN and Orano.

He/she plays a key role in innovation. As part of the fuel R&D cycle, he/she proposes new projects, more particularly projects to assess new usages of innovative technologies for application to the fuel market. He/she monitors the Free to Innovate initiative. 

 

Missions

1. To monitor Fuel R&D portfolio, in coordination with the US Fuel R&D Manager:

  • Improvements and updates of R&D portfolio management process and tools, through proposals to improve efficiency (OPEX)
  • R&D projects portfolio administration for the European region, including integration of new projects
  • Monthly reporting, including follow-up of KPIs and worldwide monthly expenditures in coordination with finance
  • To monitor Fuel BU CIR (Research Tax Credit) in France
  • End-of-year expenditures forecasts, including R&D partnerships funded by external bodies and adjustments of the program as needed to comply with approved budget

2. To manage the so-called "Cost of Sales" development portfolio for the French and German Regions:

  • French/German development projects portfolio management,
  • Definition of budget proposals taking into account customer needs and arbitration according to priorities
  • Financial reporting and forecasts

3. To monitor R&D partnerships as the Framatome’s representative in the Steering Committees of International programs and French agreements with CEA, IRSN and Orano, to build up a network with key external partners and identify opportunities based on an analysis of upcoming R&D trends and needs on Nuclear Fuel.

4. To be a strong contributor to accelerating innovation for fuel technologies by:

  • Managing the Fuel BU innovation initiative (Free to innovate) through the coordination of Free to Innovate team worldwide, monitoring the initiative all along the year, fostering collection of innovative ideas bringing high value and following the progress of the selected ideas up to implementation,
  • Proactively proposing new usages of innovative technologies in the nuclear fuel area, based on an analysis of the needs and on innovative technology surveys.

Profile

Education and experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in project management and (if possible) of R&D / Innovation management
  • Successfull experience working with international teams and in networks
  • Knowledge in the nuclear fuel industry and/or current trends regarding innovation (e.g. Artificial Intelligence)

Skills:

  • OPEX oriented ; On Time Delivery
  • IT tools (Excel, Access, SAP…)
  • Fluent in English
  • Leadership ; ability to manage teams transversally
  • Strong competence for innovation (technology and business)
  • Communication skills
  • Knowledge in Finance is appreciated
