In particular, EDVANCE is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C project and for the design of the EPR2, an optimized EPR model incorporating the feedback from the ongoing EPR projects. It will also carry out new nuclear offers and projects in France and abroad. As part of the Responsible Designer for the Hinkley Point C EPR project, Edvance provides Engineering Design support for the Nuclear Island (NI). The NI design is split between the office in Paris and in Bristol. The Engineering department at Edvance UK is split into five disciplines:  Systems & I&C, Civil & Layout , Piping&Equipment&Electrical, Commissioning and Transverse Activities.

The Senior Plant Layout Engineer is in charge of production and monitoring of civil/layout engineering studies for one or a set of buildings by proposing technical solutions.

Main activities:

• General layout engineering :
• Monitoring, coordination and resolution of design Open Points, NCRs & EW’S in the specific discipline.
• Reception of input data for the layout engineering of the building (to support design maturity, coordination for technical documentation -Handling reports, introduction notes, load list, etc.), analysis and verification of technical consistency.
• Layout engineering and proposals to improve the layout:
  • Mechanical and civil embedded equipment.
  • Check of the consistency between supplier feedback and the 3D model.
• Creation or updates of related technical documents
• Support production of civil guide drawings to the various teams and coordination of layout activities by ensuring compliance with the layout rules.
• Support and follow up of execution design activities

• Progress monitoring and change management
• Manages and monitors the modifications requested by the various engineering teams.
• Anticipates and raises alerts on open technical points.
• Regularly carries out civil/layout engineering reviews (with all the related engineering teams involved).

General and technical background expected :

• Bachelor degree engineering OR higher education
• Design office experience – Knowledge of several areas of engineering (pipework, electricity, civil engineering, etc.)
• Desirable : experience in the civil or plant layout engineering
