We are currently looking for a mechanical piping engineer to work with the «Engineering and Installation Piping» department.
This entity is responsible for the design of steel piping conveying water or steam under high pressures and temperatures in nuclear power plants. The Service is involved in major projects, such as EPR, and in the re-evaluation or improvement studies of existing plants, internationally

Job description

Your missions:

You support the realization of flexibility calculations with finite element calculation software: geometry input according to plans or automatically from the CAD model, analysis and programming of loads (own weight, thermal expansion, earthquake, compression or decompression waves, etc.) and their combinations, post-processing, shaping and analysis of the results. You can also supervise the implementation of these activities by subcontractors.

You will also intervene on fatigue or fracture mechanics analyses, using various finite element calculation methods: thermo-mechanical calculations, linear elastic or non-linear calculations to take into account plasticity, seismic calculations by modal-spectral method, temporal calculations for certain ram-strike type dynamic loads, etc.

In the event of an adverse outcome, depending on the project, you may propose changes to the design team, or use advanced calculation methods to improve the outcome.

Profile

You are a general or mechanical engineer.

You are interested in mechanical calculation in an engineering project context, you are rigorous and concerned about quality, while remaining sensitive to costs and deadlines. You have a good ability to work in a team and be accountable.

The practice of finite element calculation software (ANSYS type), or piping calculation software (Pipestress type) would be a plus.
