Job description

Your tasks include:

  • Design calculations for thermal-hydraulic fuel assembly and core design, for boiling water, pressurized water reactors and VVER
  • Safety analyses – especially core transients – using scientific and engineering  computer codes
  • Creation of quality-assured licensing documents
  • Maintenance and development of analysis methods and computer codes
  • Performance of studies and benchmarks on reactor operation, validation of computer programs or fuel assembly development
  • Representing the area of expertise in front of customers, authorities and experts

You

  • apply scientific computer codes, such as DYN3D, COBRA, RELAP
  • document and assess your work results
  • prepare licensing documents for the design and operation of fuel assemblies and reactor cores for contractual projects
  • represent your group's work results in front of customers, authorities and external experts
  • work closely with other disciplines of fuel assembly design (neutron-physics design, mechanical design)

Profile

You have

  • a degree in nuclear engineering, physics or comparable
  • relevant professional experience in thermal-hydraulics and/or fuel assembly design
  • knowledge of reactor physics and fluid mechanics (steady state and transient)
  • experience in the application of scientific and engineering computer codes
  • knowledge of VVER fuel technology is of advantage
